Images from various sources on the web.Director Lee Sang-yeop chose “excitement” and “growth” as the keywords for season 2. It just warmed my heart so much reading this Webtoon and I cannot wait for season 2 of the drama. Also having that hilarious commentary from the cells. Seeing her learn from tough situations and striving for her dream. I, hand on heart, really loved this Webtoon. I’m really happy that Yumi got the ending that she deserved and out of all the guys, I really do think that her and Soonrok are perfect for each other.

Yet they both make each other better and that’s what’s so sweet about them. They’re complete opposites and they had this awkward encounter at the beginning. I blitzed through the last 100+ episodes. Him and Yumi just melted my heart tenfold and for that very reason. If I could ever relate to a character who loved staying at home more than going out. But I’m relieved they didn’t last and good for him for ending up with Da-Eun. I really hated the fact that they got back together and it just seemed to rub more salt into the Woong thing failing. He lied about having some feelings for Da-Eun but then later on still wanted to get back with Yumi. What makes it worse is that towards the end of their relationship (part 1 because *shakes head* it didn’t end there) I still didn’t get his reasoning for the way he acted. It was almost as if he was holding back all his flaws. Yeah I get it, he’s the nice guy who’s makes the perfect, thoughtful boyfriend. Something about Babi just didn’t sit well with me from the start. And that was way before Babi did what he did. I kid you not, if I was to choose between Woong or Babi I have to say I’m Team Woong all the way. I think one of the things that slowed me down reading this Webtoon was the whole Babi time frame. As for did I think Yumi was ‘stolen’ from Woong? Heck yes which leads nicely onto the next one… I low key hoped they would get back together during the Webtoon but Woong was just not smooth enough (hahaha) and I think for Yumi’s growth, it was best that they didn’t. But man did it scar my little heart when they broke up. I get that Woong was a stubborn guy and he had some huge flaws of his own that just proves that they weren’t meant to be. Also they had so many funny, awkward moments together which was really cute. I think it’s because my idea of Woong gets blurred by the K-drama version (Ahn Bo Hyun did a very good job) and since he was the first guy that Yumi was with, I can’t help but feel sentimental when I think of them two. I have to admit, to this day I’m still attached to the whole Woong period. But I have some things to say about them so I will.) (Side note: I actually didn’t want to do it this way because Yumi is the main character of this story and she shouldn’t be defined by the guys she’s dated. Whilst reading the Webtoon, I had some thoughts that I just needed to get out so I’ve decided to write a review in the order of Yumi’s dating history.

It only took me 4 months but I was quite impressed with my achievement (hahaha). But after finishing the K-drama version, I wasn’t ready to let go of it all so I decided to start the Webtoon. I know whatcha thinking and yes, the ‘Yumi’s Cells’ Webtoon came out years ago.
